Real faces. No filters, no likes, no follower counts. The only reward is connection.
Every room you walk into online is paid for by someone. Usually by selling your attention to a person you will never meet, for a purpose you were never told.
We are not doing that here. No ads, no feed ranking your people by who spent the most, no algorithm deciding who you see. That is a choice, and choices cost money.
So the arrangement is plain:
Showing up is free. Forever. Walking into the room, drifting by mood, reading the table, meeting whoever is here — that never costs anything, and it never will. Presence is the product. It should not have a price.
Signal is the layer that lasts between rooms.
Three dollars a month. Less than the coffee you would have bought on the way to meeting someone here.
If it is not worth that yet, it is not worth that yet. Come to another room first. The door is open either way.
Somewhere along the way, the places we go to feel close to people turned our attention into the product — and started selling it by the inch.
The feed is full. The room is loud. And still — you scroll alone, in a crowd, watching strangers perform while no one quite sees you.
A whole generation is lonelier than ever, inside the most connected machine ever built.
Public-health leaders now call isolation a crisis on the scale of a daily health risk — the U.S. Surgeon General puts lacking connection in the same breath as smoking up to fifteen cigarettes a day, and the more we scroll without being met, the worse it tends to get.
So we built the opposite of a feed.
No follower counts. No metrics to chase. No algorithm deciding who deserves to be seen. Just real faces, present on purpose — and the quiet, radical act of acknowledging one another.
The only reward here is connection.
You leave a totem. Someone nods back. A conversation sparks, or it doesn't. You meet someone on your frequency, and maybe — like it's supposed to — it spills into the real world. A run at the park. A coffee. A call.
And then you leave — full, not hooked. That's the whole design. We don't want your endless hours. We want you to feel met, and go live your life.
This is a space to be seen, and to see.
To reclaim your attention — and spend it on each other.
This is the real, multiplayer Nu — but it needs your free Firebase keys to connect phones together.
1. Make a free project at firebase.google.com
2. Add a Realtime Database (test mode)
3. Copy your firebaseConfig into the top of this file where it says PASTE CONFIG
4. Re-upload. Done — phones will see each other.
Until then, you're seeing the connect screen only.
No lurkers. No bots. Connect is a room of real faces, present on purpose. When your brand appears here, it's in front of people leaning in — not scrolling past.
The room holds a limited number of spotlight slots — kept few on purpose, so each one is actually seen. NuRenN fills any open slots by default; when you take one, your card rotates ahead of ours. There's always at least one NuRenN card in the room.
We curate. Black-owned brands come first, and not everything gets in — the room stays a place people trust. If it doesn't fit the room, we'll say so and send your payment back.
An event isn't a brand card — it has a date. So it lives in the room's event bulletin, the banner up top that's matched to each person's city. Your gathering, drop, or show goes in front of the people closest to it, until it's over.
What you're buying is the slot for the period, not a guaranteed impression count. At one card every three days that works out to roughly two or three views per active member per week. Anyone in the room can dismiss a card, and we don't show it to them again — that rule is what makes the slot worth having.
This opens an email to the Nu team with your card filled in. Attach your 1360×1020 image to that email, or paste a link to it. Payment is handled separately at the placement button above.
